Kevin Mackinnon has been coaching for more than 25 years. During that time he was a provincial and national champion runner at Queens University, Ontario's Ironman of the year (1989), the winner of local and international triathlon and duathlon races, and was the second Canadian finisher at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii both times he raced there.

On top of all that competitive experience, Kevin has also coached many top age group and professional triathletes in Canada and the United States. Some of the athletes he has worked with over the last 15 years include Ironman World Champion Lori Bowden, three-time Ironman Champion Lisa Bentley, five-time national champion Mark Bates, and many other elite athletes. He has also worked with provincial and national championship track and field athletes.
