More than 2,500 triathletes and 270 relays will compete on August 16 at the third Sparkasse Finanzgruppe Ironman 70.3 Germany in Wiesbaden. After swimming at the Schiersteiner Hafen, athletes will take in a scenic bike loop with some challenging climbs and rolling descents in Rheingau-Taunus, followed by a four-loop run course at the historic Kurpark Wiesbaden. Anyone who watched the Frankfurter Sparkasse Ironman European Championship, with the dramatic women's finish between Ironman Malaysia winner Nicole Leder and Andrea Brede, and the "all day strong" performance of Timo Bracht in the men's competition earlier this year, knows how nice and scenic little villages surrounding the city of Frankfurt are.
