Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 Texas features an outstanding support network

This weekend's Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 Texas, the Ironman 70.3 Professional Championship, in Galveston, will offer some exciting extras thanks to the amazing support provided by Memorial Hermann, the event's title sponsor.

Known for world-class clinical expertise, patient-centered care, along with leading-edge technology and innovation, Memorial Hermann offers an integrated health system that serves southeast Texas and the greater Houston community. Memorial Hermann staff have embraced the event, too - this weekend’s triathlon events will see more than 40 medical people from the Memorial Hermann on hand to provide medical coverage, while the Life Flight helicopter will be stationed on Galveston Island during the races.

More than 80 other Memorial Hermann volunteers will be involved this weekend, helping out with everything from participant registration/ packet pick-up to manning aid stations for all of the events, which include Sunday’s Professional Championship and Saturday’s Lone Star Sprint and Olympic distance races.

Experts from the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute will also be on hand this weekend to provide injury assessments, performance testing demonstrations and massage for athletes and spectators. Athletes and spectators alike will have a chance to check out Memorial Hermann Imaging Centers’ Mobile MRI truck on Saturday afternoon, while the Life Flight helicopter will do a fly-over to start each of the races.
