New Events In Asia Enhance Ironman 70.3 Series

World Triathlon Corporation continues its expansion of the Ironman 70.3 Series. The two additions to the 2009 Ironman 70.3 Event Calendar are Ironman 70.3 Putrajaya (Malaysia) and Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines. Further establishing its presence in Asia, the event series now includes 33 global races. Both events will serve as official qualifiers for the 2009 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 taking place on November 14 in Clearwater, FL. Read the story »

About the Race

Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines will be held at the Camarines Sur Water Park Complex (CWC) with international wakeboarding facilities and a skate park. Participants and their families can enjoy the facilities at the park as well as other attractions within the Naga and nearby islands.

Participants will swim in two man made lakes, one loop in the small lake and one loop in the big lake before heading off to transition.

The bike course is an out-and-back ride, mostly flat with a view of mountains, rice paddies, lots of trees and green space. The turnaround point has a view of the ocean.

The first 10 km of the run includes a view of rice paddies and the mountain, followed by a stretch along the national highway. The run is also mostly flat with some hilly areas. The weather is expected to be sunny, with a temperature that shouldn't exceed 32 degrees Celsius.

The finish will be at CWC beside the infinity pool with a view of one of the man made lakes.
