The Best of the Best for Aviva Ironman 70.3 SingaporeThe original Ironman 70.3 in Asia, the 2009 Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore on March 22nd, will include a power house elite field featuring the best of the best, a new date and a revised and improved course featuring innovative two-lap, two-lane swim course.

The terrific trio will be challenged by all returning and past Aviva Ironman 70.3 champions, Simon Thompson (AUS) and Rebekah Keat (AUS) (2008), and Belinda Granger (AUS) and Reinaldo Colucci (BRA) (2007).

Add in international Ironman and Ironman 70.3 winners, Erica Csomor (HUN), Kate Major (AUS), Lucie Zelenkova (CHZ), Bryan Rhodes (NZL) and Oyvind Johannessen (NOR), Marcel Zamora (ESP), plus rising star, Canada’s Angela Naeth.

Olympian and short course stars, Andrea Hewitt (NZL) Anne Fallows (GBR) and Jodie Swallow (GBR), are also looking to be part of the red hot elite field.

With Asia suffering in the global credit crunch, organizers have been hard at work and their efforts have been rewarded with a truly international field of age groupers and elites that spans 48 countries.

And the benefits of racing Singapore have not been lost on many athletes. A chance to rub shoulders with world champions, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 winners and some of the world’s finest triathletes has proven to be a great drawcard to head to Singapore. More importantly for some, the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore has 75 qualifying slots for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Florida, too.

The Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore will once again be subject of international TV coverage in 2009 and it’s not too late to enter, with entries open until March 8th
